The history of this place is full of changes. First, hermits came to the island in the 17th century. and they built a chapel (I wonder how they delivered the stones to the island for the construction?), then they built a monastery that stood for several centuries, endured the revolution and wars, it was a women’s penal colony in the 30s and a girls’ shelter… now is the monastery for female…
We were incredibly lucky: the rain stopped, the sky began to clear, it was getting dark and there were no tourists or pilgrims…
